The meeting will consist of seven symposia, an open colloquium and closing session with conclusions.
Each Symposium is assigned to a different country and will consist of a 30-min presentation by the President and two 30-min lectures by the young group leaders of the corresponding country. Each Symposium will end with a 30-min discussion open to all participants.
The open colloquium will consist of a round table lead by the Liaison Member for IUBMB Congresses and Conferences, the FEBS Congress Counsellor, the Chairman of the FEBS Fellowships Committee and the Presidents of PABMB and FASBMB. This session aims to recapitulate the state-of-the-art research in the participating countries and to provide an opportunity for the participants to express their opinions regarding this meeting.
The meeting will conclude with an open discussion that will summarize the main conclusions of the previous sessions, in order to help the organizers to elaborate the scientific program of the 2012 IUBMB & FEBS Congress. The President of IUBMB, the Secretary General of FEBS, the Chairs of the Organising and Scientific Committees of the 2012 Congress and the President of the Portuguese Society will lead the session.
