The Larumbe restaurant is located on the 4th floor of the ABC Shopping Center in Serrano, a perfect place to take a break.
They have different spaces adaptable according to the type of event, business dinners, exhibitions, fairs, congresses, workshops, fashion shows … Its magnificent terrace, enabled for receptions and cocktails, is the ideal place to enjoy wonderful views over the Paseo de la Castellana, while your guests enjoy an unforgettable event. In addition, we have an independent access to the ABC Serrano center thanks to its original staircase of 1898.
La Redacción is the room with greater capacity, this ample space is one of the most versatile banquet halls in Madrid thanks to its two-storey layout around a large central atrium, which can serve both as a place of honor as a conference platform, speech platform or dance floor. In collaboration with Gremio de Restauradores de Plaza Mayor and Madrid de los Austrias, this experience of outreach gastronomy is offered. During the week of celebration of the 42nd Congress of the SEBBM, you could enjoy “molecular inspired tapas” in selected restaurants at the heart of Madrid; places with great culinary tradition, innovative elaborations of high quality cuisine at special prices. Jorge Cuéllar, a researcher at the National Center of Biotechnology and participant of the TV programme MasterChef 2, will prepare these recipes. A brief scientific explanation of each “tapa” will be included regarding the molecular inspiration of these snacks and the biochemical processes that take place during their elaboration.

As part of our objective of bringing science closer to the public and as a complement to the Cooking Show activity, a cocktail will be offered at a special price to congress attendees and all Platea customers, during the week of the 42nd Congress of the SEBBM. This «Molecular Cocktail», sophisticated and innovative, will have a biochemical foundation and will offer us an experience full of sensations. This combination of taste enjoyment and science will allow us to remember how science is behind all aspects of daily life, including leisure, and will make us realise the importance of supporting research to improve our society.
